Egg roll in a bowl is a quick, easy dinner with a 'fight over the leftovers' kind of meal. You can make it one-pot by just sautéing the vegetables and browning the meat. The whole family loves it, and it takes 20 minutes to make.

Why You'll Love this Egg Roll in a Bowl

Easy to Make! Make this meal quickly in one pot in less than 20 minutes! You can't ask for a quicker meal than this!

Meal Prep is easy! I made a whole pan for a couple of days. The kids could take leftovers to school.

So delicious and healthy! This meal is not only healthy, but also tasty. It provides all the nutrients needed with a balanced plate.

Ingredients Needed

Ground Meat. I used pork in this recipe, but any ground meat of your choice will work.

Cabbage. I added freshly shredded cabbage. Store-bought shredded cabbage will make this process easier, and you will not need to prep anything if you are short on time.

Carrots. Just like cabbage, you can shred some ahead of time or you can by already shredded for you to make the cooking process quicker.

Onions pair well with carrots and add sweetness when sautéed.

Coconut Aminos. I want to make this recipe as healthy as possible, so I used coconut aminos to avoid any soy. This is a preference thing. You can substitute with regular soy sauce.

Garlic. Fresh cloves of garlic will give that rich, pungent flavor.

Sesame oil and sesame seeds. Sesame seeds give the egg roll bowl a distinct flavor and a little crunch when garnished with sesame seeds.

Salt. I add the salt first in this recipe. Coconut aminos will provide the remaining salt flavor and can be adjusted to each bowl.

Ginger Powder. I use powder in this recipe, but you can always substitute with fresh ginger.

How To Make the Beef Egg Roll in a Bowl

Step 1: Prepare all your ingredients. Shred all the cabbage into small strips. Use a box grater to shred the carrots. Dice the onions using a dicer or by hand.

Step 2: Preheat a pot on medium heat and add sesame oil. A large cast iron pot will work, or a deep stainless steel pot will work just as well. Add the diced onions and saute until translucent or slightly browned. Add the crushed garlic and mix for a few minutes.

Step 3: Then add the shredded carrots to the sautéed onions to cook through slightly, just a few minutes.

Step 4: Add the ground meat, salt and ground ginger to the pan and mix. Break apart the ground meat and cook until it is all cooked through.

Step 5: Mix in the shredded cabbage with coconut aminos, then cook through for 5-10 minutes with the lid on.

Step 6: Once the cabbage has slightly softened, remove from heat. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds to enjoy.

How To Store Leftovers

Egg roll in a bowl is a great meal to have on hand for leftovers. Store in the refrigerator in a container with a lid on for 3-5 days.
