This easy and creamy tzatziki sauce can be made in less than 10 minutes. It's packed with protein, making it one of the healthier dip choices.

It is very popular to see tzatziki dip served in a Greek restaurant with gyros and other dishes, as many claim the traditional sauce's origins are in that country. Respectively, Greek yogurt earned its long overdue popularity in the kitchen from this famous sauce.
Tools Needed
Here are the key tools I use to make this recipe:
Mixing bowl. Any mixing bowl will due. I use a glass mixing bowl from the set.
Graterbox. I've had this grater box for years and love its ease of use. You will need it to grate the cucumber.
Mixing Utensil. A spatula is a perfect universal utensil for this quick dip.
Ingredients Needed
Greek Yogurt. Full-fat yogurt always tastes better, which I would also recommend. But if you need some low-fat options due to macro counting, don't hesitate to substitute low-fat Greek yogurt. I have done that, and it tastes good. It has a slight flavor distinction from the full-fat Greek yogurt, but it's still a tasty result.
Cucumber. Use an English cucumber. No seeds, and the flavor of the cucumber is really great.
Fresh Garlic. Gives the sauce a pungent and sharp kick with spicy and bitter flavors.
Fresh Dill. This aromatic herb is a staple in tzatziki sauce, adding that beautiful green color.
Lemon juice. Fresh lemon juice adds a little tang to the sauce.
Salt. Highlights all the flavors added to the recipe.
Ground Black Pepper. A sharp heat that typically enhances the flavor of any dish with citrusy and earthy notes. The coarser the grind, the more pronounced the flavor will be. The fresher the grind of the pepper, the more pronounced the flavors will be.
Olive Oil. Add oil to the sauce.
How to Make Tzatziki
Grab all your ingredients and let's get started.
Step 1: Grate the cucumber. You can leave the peel on or take the peel off. I like to leave some peel on making a stripe pattern on the cucumber. Grate on the bigger side of grater, place into a small mesh strainer and press out all the cucumber juice.
Step 2: Peel garlic and mince by hand into very tiny pieces or use a garlic press.Add to the rest of the ingredients.
Step 3: Rinse and chop fresh dill into fine pieces.
Step 4: Add Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, chopped fresh dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to the mixing bowl. Mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Add olive oil on top or mix in with the ingredients. Chill in the refrigerator for one hour for flavors to combine.
