If you love the chai tea latte from Starbucks or your favorite local coffee shop, you will love this recipe even more! This chai latte is much cheaper, it has fewer calories, and it is much healthier for you.

Why You'll Love This Recipe
After running from coffee shop and trying to find the best chai tea recipe I came to a few reasons why making your favorite chai tea latte is better at home:
- It is much cheaper! A $5 drink multiplied by 5 days a week adds up pretty quickly. Why not make your own for a fraction of that price?
- Tastes authentic. Chai tea latte originates from India where it was first made with black tea, spices, milk and sugar. This recipe is made with those exact ingredients with a boost of flavor adding sweetened condensed milk.
- Easy to Make! It takes 5 minutes and you have yourself a chai tea latte in your own kitchen.
Recommended Tools
I am a big fan of coffee and tea drinks, so I have the fancy cafe equipment at my house. Here is my coffee station. After spending way too much on $5 drinks and never consistently getting precisely what I wanted, I invested in creating my own barista station at home.

Building your own barista station at home is a post for another day, but here is a sneak peek.
How to make a Chai Tea Latte with Basic Equipment
Tea Kettle. I have an electric tea kettle, but any tea kettle would work. Hot water is necessary to steep the tea bag.
Milk Frother. This single cup milk frother is perfect for a single latte, easy to clean, and even makes cold foam if you like iced drinks.
Ingredients Needed
Earl Grey Tea. A good tea that is not too expensive but very tasty is Twinning Earl Grey Tea. Pick your favorite brand and use that.
Chai Syrup. I use this chai syrup recipe that I created. One of my friends went to India and shared that one of the cafes she went to made their chai with sweetened condensed milk. So, I set out to create a recipe, and here it is!
Milk. All my lattes are made with whole milk. They are much creamier and richer in flavor.
Hot Water. You will need just enough hot water to steep the tea bag and mix in the syrup.
