Ingredients Needed
I bet you have most of the ingredients on hand to make this blueberry spinach banana smoothie. This smoothie will make for a great snack, breakfast or lunch with all the health benefits - packed with vitamins and minerals.
Spinach. This is the perfect green for any smoothie, honestly. It has several great vitamins and minerals to support bone health and fiber for gut health.
Banana. Packed with potassium, fiber, antioxidants and more. This is a natural sweetener for the smoothie. The riper the banana, the sweeter the smoothie.
Blueberries. This is my favorite fruit. They are rich in antioxidants, help regulate blood pressure and bad cholesterol levels. They are the color of the smoothie.
Greek Yogurt. I love to add yogurt as my protein option, great for gut health, and a creamy texture for the smoothie.
Milk. I add milk instead of water. I just love the flavor and the extra added calcium for the bones. You can substitute water or any other milk of your choice, like almond milk or oat milk.
Maple Syrup. To add a little extra sweetness to the smoothie, add maple syrup. Add to your liking. You can substitute with honey or any other sweetener that you like.
Flax seed. This seed is filled with fiber and Omega-3s. It's also a great thickener.
Blend Blueberry Spinach Smoothie
When packing into the blender, I start with the blueberries on the bottom. Then I add the rest of the fruits, spinach, Greek yogurt and milk, flaxseed and maple syrup.
I have Ninja Blender that has the single cups and I can make this recipe for one serving. You can use the bigger cup and make it for several servings at one time. Blend all the ingredients until thoroughly mixed.
