Homemade whipped cream with only 3 ingredients! You will not go back, I promise!

This homemade whipped cream recipe is so easy to make! In less than ten minutes, you have whipped cream for your coffee, for pastries like coffee roll cakes, or simply to dip your strawberries.

I am a big fan of adding whipped cream to my coffee. This whipped cream is sweeter than your typical recipe, making it the perfect sweetener for your morning pick-me-up.

How to Make Homemade Whipped Cream

With just 3 ingredients and a few minutes, fresh homemade whipped cream is ready to enjoy.

Equipment Needed:

To make whipped cream, you need:

  • Stand up mixer with a stainless steel bowl and whisk-attachment
  • Spatula

If you do not have a stand up mixer, you can use a hand held mixer. It will take a few minutes longer to make the whipped cream, but worth every extra minute for sure.

Ingredients Needed:

Only 3 ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry and refrigerator.

Heavy cream. Use cold heavy cream with full fat. Do not use low-fat heavy cream because it does not contain enough fat to thicken the whip to stiff peaks.

Confectioners Sugar. I call it powdered sugar. Using confectioners sugar keeps the whip cream stabilized due to cornstarch in the sugar and it will last a little longer.

Vanilla Extract. A little bit of vanilla goes a long way in this recipe. Add flavor to your whipped cream with vanilla.

Making Whipped Cream

Let's put this together!

  1. Combine heavy cream, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla in the mixer bowl. Make sure the heavy cream is straight from the refrigerator. Cold heavy cream is best for making firm whipping cream.
  2. Whip the ingredients starting on low speed. If you start high too fast, you will have heavy cream all over you and the kitchen. Once the whip cream starts to come to form a thicker consistency, turn the mixer on high. Beat until the whip cream is thick and rich.
  3. Stiff Peaks is what you are looking for. What does that mean? When you turn the beaters off and take them off, the cream holds the peaks that formed on the beater, even upside down or right side up.
  4. Serve with your favorite berries or dessert or eat homemade whipped cream by the spoonful.

Homemade whipped cream with only 3 ingredients! You will not go back, I promise!

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup heavy cream

¼ cup confectioners sugar

½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, but I say that with hesitation. Without any actual stabilizer in the whip, it can lose its firmness. In this case, just whip lightly with a hand whisk to bring back to a rich and thick whipped cream.
