One of the easiest protein dishes you will make for your family dinner is this easy slow cooker pulled pork. It is a family favorite we make for dinner and have extra on hand for lunch the next day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3.5 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 teaspoon dry basil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Instructions

    1. Combine all the spices together in a bowl and mix together.
    2. Place the pork into the crock pot.
    3. Rub all the combined spices on every side of the meat.
    4. If you have an extremely large piece of meat, cut it into several pieces and rub the spices around each piece.
    5. Close the crock pot with the lid and turn on to slow cook
    6. If you have time and need to turn on the crock pot before work, turn on low and for 8 hours.
    7. If you are short on time, 4 hours and high will work.
    8. Once the meat is tender and falls apart easily when pulled apart with two forks, break it apart into small pieces with those two forks.
    9. Follow my recipe to make the bbq sauce.
    10. Add the barbecue sauce to the meat and mix together.
    11. Serve on brioche rolls and a side of cole slaw.
